1000 & Eins
The Berlin Symphony Orchestra kicks off its new season with a musical journey into the world of children’s games: Georges Bizet’s “Jeux d’enfants.” Originally written for piano, Bizet later transformed some of the pieces into the colorful “Petite Suite”—full of charm, humor, and playful lightness.
Joseph Bologne is also on the program: Born in Guadeloupe, he was one of the most important violin virtuosos, conductors, and composers of his time. His Violin Concerto combines elegance with impressive virtuosity.
Another highlight takes us to New York City in 1893: Antonín Dvořák’s “Symphony from the New World” premieres at Carnegie Hall.
