Photo Festival

From 3 July to 7 September 2025, the Museum Haus des Papiers will present the photography festival Communication and Attitude. The focus will be on the theme of ‘Understanding democracy and respectful communication’.

Through the use of photo posters, art finds its way directly into the urban space: 29 renowned artists and photographers will display their works at numerous public locations in Berlin. Documentary and artistic approaches enter into an exciting dialogue.

Powerful images – accessible to all

Powerful and challenging motifs invite open dialogue through the universal language of photography. With the photo festival, curators Annette Behr, Katharina Grosch and Annika Lorenz want to encourage people to appreciate the importance of constructive and respectful communication for the preservation of democracy in a polarised world.

‘Democracy needs art, and art needs publicity – now more than ever,’ Berr appeals.

The aim is to promote democratic discourse through visibility in urban space and at the same time create new meeting places for art.

Das Haus des Papiers

Das Haus des Papiers is a private museum in the heart of Berlin dedicated exclusively to contemporary sculptural paper art. It was founded in 2021 by Annette Berr and Ul Vohrer. With initiatives such as the Paper Residency! scholarship programme and the renowned Paper Art Award, supported by sponsors d'mage, Hahnemühle and Canon Germany, the museum offers a platform for established and emerging artists.

At the same time, the House of Paper is a place that treats all artistic and craftsmanship skills related to paper as a material and is gradually building an active paper community.
