Double bills with solo performances

The MONO:MONO format brings two solo works together in one evening, celebrating the monologue as the seed of community.

In the musical theater piece THE FLORENS – L'AMORE MASCULINO, Vöcks de Schwindt imagine happy queer relationships in Renaissance Florence as a promise for the future.

In SURVIVAL OF THE FRIENDLIEST, Therese Lösch & Melina von Gagern search for stories of real, existing goodness beyond catastrophic headlines.

In I'M COMING FOR YOU ANYWAY, Kumar Muniandy takes the audience on an emotional journey through the struggles of caregiving, critiques of patriarchy, ghostly rendezvous, and 80s pop songs.

MONO:MONO is a spin-off format of the Monologue Festival. The pieces were commissioned in 2025 under the theme "I WANT TO BELIEVE." They explore faith as a creative force, as an initiation of action, as a community-building or community-destroying element. After each double bill, confessions, professions of faith, and heresy are shared over music, soup, and drinks in the bar.

"The chances of finding a few kindred spirits on stage or in the audience aren't bad" (Deutschlandfunk Kultur), because these monologues offer "a touch of skeptical optimism in these fear-ridden times" (taz).
