Works for Piano Duo by Schubert and Kurtág
Romantic “storms of life” meet intricate contemporary miniatures: in their duo program, Leif Ove Andsnes and Bertrand Chamayou juxtapose the great works for four-hand piano written by Franz Schubert in the last year of his life with a selection from György Kurtág’s inexhaustible repertoire of “Games.” Published since 1973 in the ongoing series of short pieces entitled Játékok, these also include Hommage à Schubert, written in 1979.
