Art at Chamissoplatz

The new art project Kunstk!ez will launch in September at Chamissoplatz in Berlin. Under the motto ‘Kunst macht Kiez’ (Art makes the neighbourhood), a lively space for contemporary art, encounters and creative participation is being created. The format features curated exhibitions by young and established artists and aims to make artistic positions visible, promote creative exchange and enrich cultural life in the district.

The works on display are diverse and reflect different styles. Some of the works refer to the monthly theme of Berlin.

Each exhibition runs for up to two weeks before new artists take over the space. The programme is complemented by the so-called Kunstsonntage (Art Sundays): open afternoons where visitors can get creative themselves or simply witness the artistic processes of others. Over drinks and in a relaxed atmosphere, encounters, conversations and collaborative creativity are encouraged.

Kunstk!ez sees itself not only as an exhibition space, but also as a platform for exchange and community. Artists have the opportunity to use the rooms as studios, for workshops or for other creative formats. Vernissages and finissages invite neighbours and art lovers alike to become part of the project. ‘With Kunstk!ez, we want to make art visible and accessible – not only for a specialist audience, but for everyone in the neighbourhood. We are creating a space where art connects, inspires and sparks conversation,’ says Noemi Lichtwer, organiser.

The exhibition is open throughout September 2025 from Wednesday to Sunday and admission is free.
The project is supported by TINCON.
