Christina Kubisch
Alongside the live music program, we present renowned sound artist Christina Kubisch's site-specific, thirteen-channel installation 'Signals in the Dark'.
Composed from electromagnetic field recordings captured in monitored urban zones such as shopping malls and parking structures, the piece invites visitors to explore overlapping and rhythmic signal sequences using induction headphones, with each movement through the space revealing new variations.

Jasmine Guffond and Jason Kunwar
Berlin-based Australian composer Jasmine Guffond investigates the intersection of sound, technology and political infrastructures. Her work interrogates surveillance culture, using the sonification of data to reveal previously hidden digital processes. She opens our three-day Kiezsalon together with clarinettist Kai Fagashinski.
Making his Berlin debut is Kathmandu-based composer Jason Kunwar, whose work draws on folk traditions, ethnomusicological research and contemporary experimentation. Rooted in stories of rural labour, migration and resistance, his recent performances blend electronic textures with Nepalese and Tibetan instruments.

Maika Garnica and Limpe Fuchs
Based in Antwerp, Maika Garnica creates spiked and scaled ceramic sound objects that blur the boundaries between sculpture and instrument. Described by The Wire as evoking “a parallel world… like a showcase of archaeological findings,” her works shift between sonic performance and physical presence.
German percussionist Limpe Fuchs has a decades-long pedigree in improvised music, dating back to the late 1960s. Often performing on self-built instruments and sound sculptures made from metal, wood and stone, her collaborators in recent years have included Evan Parker and Flamingo Creatures.
Saturday, 26. July
Başak Günak and Cerys Hafana
Berlin-based composer and sound artist Başak Günak's work spans site-specific installations and scores for theatre, dance, film and visual art. Her 2024 album Rewilding weaves recordings from past installations into what The Wire described as “a diversity of rewilded sounds skittering through a haze of electronic auras.”
Welsh composer and performer Cerys Hafana explores the creative potential of the triple harp, merging folk traditions with found sound, archive recordings and electronic processing. Their second album Edyf was named one of The Guardian’s top folk albums of 2022, with Folk Radio praising their “progressive, profound and inspiring” approach. They make their Berlin debut at our Kiezsalon.
