Kiebich and Dutz is a poetic adventure story about two unlikely friends on the threshold of the world.

Kiebich longs for the outdoors, for wide-open spaces and new experiences. Dutz, on the other hand, loves the confines of home and the familiar.

Amid pillows, shadows, and imaginative games, they invent their own heroic tales—until one of them finds the courage to truly set out.

In the strange world, Kiebich encounters a seductive force that lures him with sound and promises. And suddenly it becomes clear what friendship means: not to stand still, but to set out when the other is in danger.

With humor, music, and vivid imagery, the play explores fear and curiosity, illusory worlds and real experiences.

A timeless story about how difficult and how necessary it is to take the first step—and that courage sometimes arises where you least expect it.

A theater evening for children ages 8 and up and for adults who haven’t lost their sense of wonder.
