Discover entertainment and consumer electronics at the IFA in Berlin

IFA 2026 will take place from 4 to 8 September at Berlin’s exhibition grounds.

In its 102nd year, the next leading global trade show for consumer and home electronics will once again draw a wide audience to the halls around the Funkturm. The latest inventions in communication technology and a vibrant show programme in the IFA Summer Garden make this Berlin event such a crowd-puller. The Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) has been held in the capital since 1924, making it one of Berlin’s oldest industrial trade fairs.

In 2025, IFA welcomed around 220,000 visitors from 140 countries. On the exhibition grounds at the Funkturm in Charlottenburg, guests can discover the latest innovations in electronic media, enjoy public events featuring autograph sessions, concerts and games, and experience a diverse programme of keynotes and panel discussions.

IFA – a long-standing tradition of information and entertainment

Back in the 1920s, exhibitors mainly showcased crystal detectors, headphones and valve radios. The 1930s introduced new developments such as car radios and tape recorders. Over the years, many electronic innovations have made their public debut at the Internationale Funkausstellung. After the Second World War, the fair moved to a biennial schedule.

Since 2006, however, IFA has returned to being an annual event in Berlin. Today, it attracts around a quarter of a million visitors, more than half of whom are trade professionals from around the globe. Over 1,900 exhibitors invite guests to explore the world of cutting-edge electronic innovation across a space of around 190,000 m².
The target audience is becoming increasingly younger. Children and teenagers can dive into virtual realities using VR headsets, discover the latest gaming gadgets, or try out the most advanced smartphones. Another rapidly growing area of focus is the smart home. Whether it’s a smart coffee machine or an internet-connected toothbrush – the interconnectivity of everyday objects is proving highly popular among consumers.

The appeal of the trade show is further boosted by a colourful incentive of shows and entertainment, which draws large audiences throughout the event. It’s not just the many autograph sessions with celebrities from sport, TV and music that are in high demand – the concerts in the IFA Summer Garden are also among the key highlights.
