IFA 2026 - Innovation For All

Since 1924, the Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) has been held in the capital, making it one of Berlin’s oldest industrial trade fairs. Today, it attracts visitors from over 100 countries. They can expect to see the latest innovations in electronic media at the exhibition grounds by the Funkturm in Charlottenburg, along with public events including autograph sessions, concerts, games and e-sports activities.

The IFA – information and entertainment with a long-standing tradition

In the 1920s, exhibitors showcased mainly crystal radios, headphones and valve receivers. The 1930s saw the addition of new products like car radios and tape recorders. Over the decades, many electronic innovations have made their public debut at the Internationale Funkausstellung. After the Second World War, the event was held biennially.

Since 2006, however, the trade fair has once again taken place annually in Berlin. The IFA now records around a quarter of a million visitors, over half of whom are industry professionals from around the globe. More than 1,400 exhibitors invite guests to explore the world of the latest electronic innovations across an area of over 140,000 m².

The target audience is also becoming increasingly younger. Children and teenagers can immerse themselves in virtual realities using VR headsets, discover the latest gadgets in gaming, or try out the newest smartphones. Smart homes are another rapidly growing focus: from connected coffee machines to internet-enabled toothbrushes, consumers are increasingly drawn to everyday items that are networked and intelligent.

The fair’s appeal is further enhanced by a vibrant incentive programme of shows and entertainment that captivates audiences throughout the event.
