Namibian-German musical theater for children aged 6 and older

Hijangua and Matjiua have always been best friends. Now Hijangua is to learn how to become a king. But who wants to be a king when you have best friends?

Together, Hijangua and Matjiua sneak out of their village and go into the desert so they can stay together forever. But the Namibian desert is so big - what adventures might be waiting for them there?

"Hijangua - A Journey into the Desert" is an adaptation for children from 6 years of the first Namibian opera "Chief Hijangua". It is produced especially for the Humboldt Forum with singers from Namibia, dancers and a chamber ensemble of the Rundfunk Sinfonie Orchester Berlin (rsb). A narrator guides the audience through the story and the Namibian world of myths.

A production of Momentbühne e. V. In collaboration with the rsb. Supported by Lotto Stiftung Berlin and Siemens Art Program. With the kind support of the Goethe-Institut Namibia.
