PRUSSIAN BLUE: Shamanic Breath Vibrations - Classical, Blues, Minimal, Rock & Roll. The three virtuosos breathe – loudly, quietly, rhythmically, chorally – breath vibrations as a dialogue.
With their Jew's harps, they improvise "off the cuff," creating an electronically vibrant, rhythmically fascinating cosmos of sound through the khomus playing of Yakut shamans, harmonica, duduk, and shruti box. Overtone and undertone singing complete the program. With their sophisticated playing techniques, they create vibrating tones that calm and release tension, regulate the flow of breath, and whose hypnotic effect creates harmonious images and allows dark thoughts to float away.
Toni Kater works and lives as a musician and author in Berlin. In 2011, she founded her own record label, Toni Kater Records, on which she has already released several albums. Her songs are full of poetry, unusual imagery, depth, and humor. The music on "JEMALS," Toni Kater's eighth studio album, has once again been pared down to a minimum.
The songs, which are often excessively long in times of maximum ephemerality, are accompanied almost exclusively by acoustic guitar and electric guitar delays.
"JEMALS" is an honest and intimate album with which Toni Kater once again manages to remain unclassified. In January 2025, it was nominated for the German Record Critics' Award.
