Higher SS and Police Leader in the Generalgouvernement
Friedrich-Wilhelm Krüger (1894-1945) was the highest SS leader in occupied Poland during the Second World War. As Higher SS and Police Leader based in Krakow, he took radical action against the Polish population in the General Government and organized the murder of millions of Jews.
In his book Friedrich-Wilhelm Krüger. Der dreißigjährige Krieg eines politischen Soldaten (1914-1945) (2025), Nicolas Patin explores the question of how the young German soldier, who was 20 years old when he went to war in 1914, became one of the worst Nazi perpetrators.
- Book presentation: Dr. Nicolas Patin
