New theater production premieres at the Theater Expedition Metropolis in Berlin
“Florence Foster Jenkins – The Diva of Off-Key Notes” is a new Berlin theater production dedicated to this fascinating figure. The focus is not only on the most famous “worst singer in the world,” but on a woman who, against all odds, created her own stage and left behind an unmistakable legacy through courage, passion, and self-promotion.
The play explores the power of imagination, the desire to be seen, and the question of who actually decides what qualifies as art. Somewhere between comedy and tragedy
a portrait emerges of a woman whose failure became a triumph.
The production combines humor, music, and theater into a unique take on Florence Foster Jenkins—one that goes beyond familiar portrayals of the character. An invitation to
rethink perfection, success, and the liberating power of being different.
"People may say I couldn’t sing, but no one can say I didn’t sing."
