WEBERN, RIHM, BEETHOVEN
Fabian Müller caused a stir in the international music world when he won no fewer than five prizes at the 2017 ARD Music Competition in Munich. Now the young pianist comes to the Pierre Boulez Saal performing works by German and Austrian composers. Contrasting piano pieces by Schubert and Beethoven’s monumental “Hammerklavier” Sonata with Webern’s Variations Op. 27 and Wolfgang Rihm’s Tombeau, his program highlights unexpected connections between works of different centuries.
- Anton Webern - Variations for Piano Op. 27
- Franz Schubert - Three Piano Pieces D 946
- Wolfgang Rihm - Piano Piece No. 5 "Tombeau"
- Ludwig van Beethoven - Sonata in B-flat major Op. 106 "Hammerklavier"
