Erlöserchor: Requiem in D minor

Amongst Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s numerous church compositions, the Requiem holds a special place.

Its impact stems not only from the depth of its musical expression, but also from our knowledge of the circumstances surrounding its creation – composed on his sickbed, wrung from him as death approached, and ultimately left unfinished.

The completion of the work by Mozart’s pupil Franz Xaver Süßmayr has in no way diminished the Requiem’s appeal.
