After twelve years, a young man returns to his family. During this time he kept quiet as he successfully established himself as a gay artist in the big city and, in his heart and mind, became increasingly distant from his family in the small town.

Is it still possible to meet? Whether years of no contact soften or harden the judgment of one another? Do the years spent together outweigh the years spent apart?

Together with his ensemble, director Christopher Rüping goes right into the heart of the drama family.

The production Simply the End of the World was taken over by the Schauspielhaus Zurich and has received numerous awards: with an invitation to the 58th Berlin Theatertreffen, as production of the year 2021 (Theater Today), with the Nestroy Prize 2021 for the best German-language performance.

The ensemble was also celebrated: Benjamin Lillie was named Actor of the Year 2021, Maja Beckmann was named Actress of the Year 2021.
