Text von 120 Kindern des Projekts „PROPS gehen raus“ |
Regie, Raum & Ausstattung von 14 Kindern zwischen 9-12
Soon it becomes difficult to tell the difference. Between reality and fiction. Between cozy daydreaming and nightmares. What was just a game a moment ago can turn on a dime.
This special production, the highlight of the participatory project “PROPS gehen raus,” is created by young people for young people. In Don’t stop dreaming, the children of the artistic team direct three adult actors and let them, in the characters of Kai, Ten, and Sasha, explore their dreams.
What fears lie within? What unlikely friendships? Who or what do they trust?
The “PROPS Go Out” Project
For decades, the GRIPS Theater has been committed to children’s rights and the right to participation—in its productions and projects, children are involved in deciding what is shown and discussed on stage. The “PROPS gehen raus” project takes this a step further and enables children to create a complete professional theater production.
In a collective process spanning two years, children aged 9 to 12 write their own play, decide on the set design, costumes, music, and publicity—and, as directors, stage professional (adult) actors on stage. Free post-performance discussion after every show!
To give the audience direct insights into the creative process behind “Don’t Stop Dreaming” and the two-year participatory process at the GRIPS Theater, the theater visit is rounded off with a post-performance discussion featuring children from the production team, the actors, and the artistic leadership team.
