The Last War: WWIII

Europe, and Germany in particular, is gripped by war fever. Peace is hardly a topic of conversation anymore. And even less so: love. Media historian Friedrich Kittler saw not only contrasts here, but also connections: "The opposite of war is not peace, but love," he stated almost 20 years ago during a trip to Crimea.

Starting from this premise, they, along with prominent thinkers and activists, examine the present, a present characterized by rampant rearmament and the militarization of all areas of society, including thought. Peace is clearly no longer an option; and at the same time, fascism is already present on the streets of Europe, refugees are drowning in the graveyard of the Mediterranean.

What about love? As ridiculous as it may seem: What if love is precisely what is missing in our world of war without peace?

With: Boris Buden, philosopher from Berlin; Morana Miljanović, boat captain, sea rescuer, and artist; Srećko Horvat, author of Radicality of Love; Oxana Timoveeva, philosopher and member of the artist collective Chto Delat; Sebastian Kaiser, moderator
