with the photographer Anne Schönharting

Anne Schönharting has photographed people in their apartments in Berlin-Charlottenburg for over ten years. In this guided tour she gives insight into her work. The images of her series Habitat are interiors, portraits, still lifes, stagings of the photographer and at the same time documentation.

Through Schönharting's fine pictorial compositions, the idea of a bygone, upper-middle-class Charlottenburg seems to shimmer through at the same time. In the exhibition, her photographs now enter into a dialogue with the historic Charlottenburg Art Collection and its works from the 19th century and the Berlin Secession.

A dialogue that looks at the photographs, visualizes the historical works of art, and opens them up to new perspectives and references, to the discovery of empty spaces, and not least to the playful discovery of commonalities.
