Couturier Klaus Schumann talks about 70 years of fashion life in Berlin
Klaus Schumann (born 1937) has been familiar with West Berlin haute couture since his apprenticeship in the 1950s. Initially an assistant to Günter Brosda, his long career in Berlin fashion led him to Fasanenstraße in the 1980s as Werner Machnik's successor in the studio – a decisive step on his path to becoming a highly acclaimed Berlin fashion designer.
Klaus Schumann has always been in touch with the industry, including its ups and downs. He was a columnist for the Berliner Zeitung for many years and, above all, remains a passionate couturier. The author of the book "Klaus Schumann. Fashion in Berlin" will give an introduction.
