Lecture by Dr. Jürgen Luh, Director of the RECS, Sanssouci Research Centre, Science and Research, SPSG
In the summer of 1936 and 1937, Pfaueninsel, located between Wannsee and Potsdam, was the scene of National Socialist celebrations for propaganda purposes for guests from abroad and visitors from Germany.
The occasion was provided by the XI Olympic Games, a congress of the IHK, the International Chamber of Commerce, and the summer retreat of the NSG-KdF, the National Socialist Community Strength through Joy.
What was staged, how, by whom and for what purpose will be presented and examined in the lecture.
