There is an idea that human transformation unfolds in spirals — nothing ever truly repeats, even if it appears so; each turn takes place on a new layer, at a deeper level.
Inspired by this, Mahshad and three other performers, together with a sound artist, find themselves in a cyclical journey. Together they explore what it means to be caught in constant spirals and spins. There is no pause — everything moves in continuous turns. Phases and seasons unfold — madness arrives, surrender follows, exhaustion sets in, and finally joy returns. Again and again, an endless cycle.
They come from different places, now living in Berlin. As immigrants, they ride the challenges of this journey. At times, intensities and inner tornadoes sweep in, pulling them away from the very connections they hold.
- What happens when in rises and falls, people lose their connection?
- Can they still remain together, meet and hold on to their bonds?
On four evenings the graduates of the BA Dance, Context, Choreography show their final projects. With works by Mateo Argerich, Ella Olivia Bender, Anton Gerzina, Sefa Okutan, Mahshad Rezai, Milena Stein, Marie Stremmel, Frida Zack.
