To celebrate this milestone in style, a double concert featuring their friends, the “Blackbird Café Orchestra,” took place on July 13, 2024, at the ufaFabrik.

With a repertoire drawing from many parts of the world, the 19-member ensemble brings everything from jazz to Balkan music to samba to the stage, pulling the audience out of their seats. That is precisely the goal of this colorful troupe.

The broad repertoire also allows them to provide musical responses to thematically defined events, such as the annual “Jazztreff Berlin
,” where the CAS OrkeStar has already performed several times—most recently in November 2024.

In terms of instruments, it’s a lively mix that defies easy categorization—vocals, cello, trombone, flutes, electric bass, electric guitars, accordion, alto to baritone saxophones, clarinets, Brazilian and Cuban percussion—whoever is there, plays along!
