Percussion and Afro-Brazilian sounds by Aduni Guedes and K'boko
The musicians Aduni Guedes and K'boko come from Pernambuco - the region in north-eastern Brazil where one of the most important ensembles of the Oranienburg Palace Museum has its origins.
Johann Moritz von Nassau-Siegen worked there in the 17th century as Governor General of the Dutch colony. Deeply involved in the enslavement trade, he had a magnificent set of ivory furniture made, which can be seen in the palace today.
With a musical performance, Guedes and K'boko build a sonorous bridge between past and present. Their pieces blend traditional rhythms with experimental sounds - sensual, powerful and multi-layered. They invite the audience to immerse themselves in the musical diversity of Pernambuco and at the same time discover new perspectives on historical contexts.
An accompanying special tour provides in-depth insights into colonial history and the significance of the objects.
