With the “Vespro della Beata Vergine,” Claudio Monteverdi created one of the most significant sacred works in the history of music. His Marian Vespers blend the soundscape of the Renaissance with the new forms of expression of the early Baroque and continue to impress to this day with their musical diversity and sonic splendor.

The Berliner Figuralchor will perform this masterpiece on the stage of the Chamber Music Hall at the Berlin Philharmonie, together with the Cantores Minores, Berlin Baroque, and a top-tier ensemble of soloists, under the direction of Gerhard Oppelt. Virtuoso solo passages, magnificent choral movements, and the impressive use of multiple choirs allow Monteverdi’s visionary composition to shine brilliantly in the hall’s unique acoustics.
