Artist Talk: Vilanismo im Gespräch mit Akinbode Akinbiyi
The discussion navigates questions of the image, memory, territory and lived experience, and explores photography as a space for encounter, resistance and collective self-affirmation.
The conversation takes place in the Sylvia Wynter Foyer, amidst Akinbiyi’s photographic installation, originally commissioned for the 36th São Paulo Biennial in 2025.
- The discussion will be moderated by curator and author Billy Fowo of SAVVY Contemporary.
- From 11 September to 22 November 2026, SAVVY Contemporary will host an exhibition featuring works by Vilanismo.
- Part of *Not All Travellers Follow Paths – Humanity as Practice*, 36th São Paulo Biennial, Berlin Edition.
