She and He. Both have experienced many things – filled with bittersweet memories of recently ended relationships. They meet by chance at a train station and unexpectedly strike up a conversation.
Together, they analyze the complexity of interpersonal relationships and return to moments from their past that have significantly shaped their lives. During their time together on the platform, they remember characters such as the princess and the knight at a student ball, a man and Monika in a bar, and a woman and Wojciech on a car ride in an Opel. In a cheerful, informal conversation, they are completely themselves for the first time in a long time.
"Appetite for Cherries" is a musical play based on texts and songs by the important Polish poet Agnieszka Osiecka, with music by Maciej Małecki. It is a brilliant tale of love, jealousy, and betrayal – about what builds relationships and what destroys them – as well as about everyday things. The main roles are played by Katarzyna Tapek (as a woman) and Radosław Elis (as a man). Directed by Grzegorz Chrapkiewicz.
The performance will be followed by a discussion to further reflect on the role of theater in building bridges between nations.
The performance will be presented in Polish with German subtitles.
