Barocktage of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden
This year’s program of the Barocktage festival of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden takes its inspiration from the character of Medea, one of the great figures of Ancient Greek mythology. While the Medea operas by Marc-Antoine Charpentier and Luigi Cherubini will be seen in the opera house, the Pierre Boulez Saal hosts a concert performance of Georg Anton Benda’s rarely heard melodrama by Berlin’s Akademie für Alte Musik.
In addition, Jordi Savall and other Early Music specialists present vocal and instrumental works by Charpentier, Giacomo Carissimi, and Alessandro Stradella, among others.
The Barocktage are presented by the Staatsoper Unter den Linden.
The concerts on November 19, 20, 25, and 26 take place in cooperation with the Pierre Boulez Saal. Tickets are available exclusively from the Staatsoper Unter den Linden.
