The Werkbund Archive – Museum der Dinge is open at its new location at Leipziger Straße 54 in Berlin-Mitte with an updated permanent exhibition. The Open Depot showcases approximately 15,000 objects from the 20th and 21st centuries, offering a fascinating insight into product culture, design, and everyday life in the modern era.

The focus is on the Deutscher Werkbund, which was founded in 1907 by representatives from the arts, industry, and politics and advocated for functional, sustainable, and contemporary design.
The exhibition critically examines the Werkbund’s ideas and strategies and relates them to current social and environmental developments.

Accessibility
- Accessibility: The museum is located entirely on the ground floor and is accessible without steps or changes in elevation.
- Wheelchair Accessibility: All rooms and exhibition areas are wheelchair-accessible; the aisles are at least 90 cm wide.
- Entrance: The entrance door has a 2-cm-high threshold and a 102-cm-wide doorway. There is no automatic door opener; staff will assist if needed.
- Accessible Parking: A parking space for people with limited mobility can be reserved in advance. Access is via Jerusalemer Straße.
- Public Transportation: The museum is accessible via the U2 subway line (Spittelmarkt stop) and bus lines 200 and 248. The stops are located approximately 30 to 300 meters from the entrance.
- Assistance dogs: Assistance dogs are welcome and must be registered at the ticket counter.
- Seating: Benches and other seating options are available in the entrance area and throughout the exhibitions.
- Accessible restroom: There is a wheelchair-accessible restroom with grab bars and a 95.5 cm wide doorway. A changing table is also available there.
- Orientation for Blind Visitors: Currently, there is no tactile floor guidance system and no special orientation aids for blind visitors.
- Information: Exhibition texts are available in German, English, and Easy-to-Read language.
- Digital Resources: The free museum app offers information in German, English, and easy-to-read language, available for both reading and listening.
- Sign Language and Braille: Information in German Sign Language or Braille is not currently available.
- Multisensory Approach: Some media stations offer audio and video content, allowing information to be conveyed through various senses.
- Exhibition heights: Some objects and exhibition texts are located at very high heights—display cases reach up to 362 cm, and texts are positioned between 18 and 340 cm in height.
