Permanent exhibition - Bourgeois life around 1900

Since 1974, a unique museum site has been located on the bel étage (first floor) at Heynstraße 8 in the Pankow district: In the former apartment of rattan furniture manufacturer Fritz Heyn, the exhibition explores middle-class life in northeast Berlin around 1900 through the example of the Heyn family.

The bourgeois reception rooms have been partially preserved in their original architectural features (stucco, paintings, etc.) and furnishings and are open to visitors. Other design elements of the historic complex, such as the staircase, front yard, courtyard, and garden, are also accessible.

Special exhibitions, educational programs, and themed events round out the visitor experience at this museum location.
