Guided tour and planetarium programme at the Archenhold Observatory

In 1915, Albert Einstein gave his first public lecture on his General Theory of Relativity in what is now the Einstein Hall at the Archenhold Observatory.

On this guided tour, you’ll follow in the footsteps of arguably the most famous scientist, whose theories fundamentally changed the prevailing worldview and our understanding of space, time, and gravity.

Through selected museum exhibits, his reconstructed study, and an immersive short program in the planetarium, you’ll gain a vivid, exciting, and intimate understanding of who Einstein was as a person and a researcher, what connected him to this observatory, and why his revolutionary ideas continue to shape our understanding of the universe to this day.
