Museum of the Fossil Age
It's frightening, but true: everyday lives cannot function without coal, oil, and gas. Fossil fuels enable mobility and provide electricity and heat. Fossil raw materials are used in road construction and in our clothing. Over decades, we have made ourselves dependent on them—and realized far too late what the consequences are. We live in a carbon culture! And the Deutsches Technikmuseum, as a museum of the fossil fuel age, reflects this in its exhibitions.

Carbon Culture. Museum des fossilen Zeitalters
The intervention “Carbon Culture” at the museum picks up on this theme. A new presentation of selected objects and their connection to landscapes of raw material extraction opens up unusual perspectives. Short text passages and specific questions accompany visitors. They encourage reflection and turn the museum into a place for critical engagement with a technology and cultural history that is harmful to the climate.

Admission is free for everyone under 18 and until the completion of regular schooling.

At the door/without an online ticket: €7 (including a €1 service fee)

- Unemployed individuals
- People with severe disabilities (50% or higher)
- Recipients of social assistance

- Participants in the Federal Volunteer Service and those performing voluntary military service
- Berlin residents with a BerlinPass and BerlinPass-BuT
