Fairy tales from around the world in Gropiusstadt and Körnerpark in Neukölln
During the Advent season, the Neukölln Ballad Tent offers traditional fairy tales from around the world, vividly told in their original languages and colorfully illustrated by artists from the respective countries.
Since 2006, the event has invited young and old to take a seat on one of the cozy cushions in the lovingly decorated tent and be drawn into the wondrous world of fairy tales.
The large illustrations, gestures, and facial expressions make it easy to follow the stories—regardless of the listeners' native language. Afterward, the audience summarizes the content of the fairy tales together with the storytellers.
Fairy tales from 20 different countries, including India, Turkey, and France, are featured. New this year is a Ukrainian fairy tale, which adds another voice to the program and further enhances the linguistic diversity of the Ballad Tent.
