Concept:

The group exhibition "WasserFest" at the project space Galerie M explores the role of water in its many forms through a wide range of media and artistic perspectives, both on a physical and metaphorical level.

Water is found everywhere on Earth, from vast oceans to clouds in the sky. This clear, tasteless, and odorless liquid is essential for all forms of life. Its ability to dissolve many substances makes it a vital part of nature and life itself.

Global warming is causing changes in precipitation patterns and more frequent droughts. Rising sea levels are also threatening coastal water supplies and causing the salinization of groundwater sources. Climate change, water scarcity, drought, and pollution all endanger the availability of water.

The right to access clean drinking water was recognized by the United Nations in 2010 as a fundamental human right. However, this right is increasingly under threat due to the privatization of water. Water is becoming a privilege reserved for those who can afford it, deepening global inequality.

Water, as the central element of the "WasserFest" exhibition, creates a space to explore environmental change, human-nature interaction, and global responsibility.

The exhibition highlights the importance of water not only as a vital resource for life but also as a symbol of social justice, sustainability, and the future of our planet.
