A multitude of animals appear in the paintings of the Old Masters. The significance of these animals from the Middle Ages to the Rococo period has become alien to us today.

In the tandem tours, biologist Ursula Müller and art historian Thomas Hoffmann demonstrate how to decipher animals and their symbolism. Using meaningful examples, the tour aims to provide access to "reading" the paintings based on animal depictions.
