Kinder- und Jugendtanzcompany Sasha Waltz & Guests
On 30 June and 1 July 2025, around 100 young dancers take the stage to present the results of their work over the past year as part of the Sasha Waltz & Guests children’s and youth dance company.
This year’s annual showcase once again includes all four groups of the children’s and youth dance company, and, for the second year in a row, a performance by Children's Dance Group 1, which consist of the youngest children, ages 6 to 9.
Entitled “Treeeees”, the piece is accompanied by live piano music. The young dancers of Children's Dance Group 2 (ages 9 to 11) dialogue with live music in “Welleneffekt” (“Wave Effect”) and discover their playful connection to percussion.
Group 3 (ages 11 to 14) explore questions of identity, belonging, boundaries, and community in “Constantly becoming.” The showcase concludes with “NEXUS”, a performance by the teenagers and young adults of Group 4 (ages 14 and up), which combines live percussion and electronic beats to link questions around the responsibility in the world with the transformative potential of collective creativity.
