Boat tours with Kaiser Friedrich

Glide quietly along the River Spree in an electric boat

Berlin’s oldest passenger ship, the steamer “Kaiser Friedrich”, was built in 1886 and still safely transports visitors and Berliners through the capital today. Since 2024, it has even been powered by a zero-emission electric propulsion system.

Sightseeing, stories and adventures on the Spree

Whether it’s a classic sightseeing tour, a Berlin beer evening or a tour through the Wild East, exploring freedom, art and club culture: the crew of the old steamboat “Kaiser Friedrich” will take you on a cruise through the whole of Berlin – right to its furthest corners. Even though the city never gets boring, personalised audio guides enrich the tours with exciting stories and anecdotes.

On the “Wild East” tour, which runs from Jannowitzbrücke to Insel der Jugend, rapper Romano recounts tales of Berlin’s wildest clubs, real-life criminal cases and a spectacular escape from the GDR. On the one-hour “City Tour – Alte Börse”, Captain Julius takes you on a journey through both historic and modern Berlin. And on the “Old Berlin Beer Evening”, you can look forward to beer brewed especially for the tour – with a beer garden atmosphere right in the middle of the Spree. A summer evening in Berlin doesn’t get much better than this.

The tours usually last between one and two and a half hours. The landing stages vary.
