THE BARN at Kranzler-Eck

Berlin coffee culture in a historic venue

A coffee on Kurfürstendamm is part and parcel of the City West way of life. At the historic Kranzler-Eck, THE BARN carries on this tradition in a contemporary style: with high-quality speciality coffee and minimalist design in its light-filled premises.

Since the end of November 2024, THE BARN has been welcoming guests on the ground floor of the Kranzler-Eck. Spanning around 100 square metres, a bright, open space with double-height ceilings and a large glass façade has been created here.

But the focus is on the coffee: THE BARN is renowned for high-quality speciality coffees, with a particular emphasis on origin, roasting and preparation. Here, you can relax and enjoy a delightful break whilst shopping or sightseeing in City West.

History & Concept

The Kranzler-Eck looks back on a long coffee-house tradition. As early as 1893, the ‘Kleine Café’ opened here; later, Café Kranzler became a West Berlin institution. The striking rotunda with its red-and-white striped awnings continues to characterise the site to this day.

THE BARN has been based at the Kranzler-Eck since 2016. During the several-year refurbishment of the former Café Kranzler, the roastery moved to an alternative space within the complex in 2024.
