The permanent exhibition BerlinZEIT – The city makes history! takes you on a journey through 800 years of Berlin’s past, spread across two floors. The exhibition explores themes such as urban development through growth and destruction, tolerance and persecution, power and participation. Numerous original objects and artefacts offer a glimpse into times gone by.

Berlin’s backyards have many stories to tell. The exhibition presents historical and contemporary photographs that offer insights into hidden urban spaces and how they’ve evolved over time.

At the Museum Knoblauchhaus, you step into the world of the Biedermeier era. Carefully reconstructed living spaces illustrate how the Knoblauch family lived and ran their business 200 years ago. The museum offers an authentic impression of Biedermeier life.
Exhibition: Everyday Life in Biedermeier Berlin – Humboldt, Schinkel & the Knoblauch family
This permanent exhibition lets you explore the lifestyle and interior culture of a bygone era. The “Raphael Cabinet” has been faithfully reconstructed and features works inspired by the famous artist. In the “Berlin Salon” exhibition area, you’ll meet friends of the Knoblauch family – including well-known figures such as Karl Friedrich Schinkel and Wilhelm and Alexander von Humboldt.

Ticket validity after purchase
Stadtmuseum Berlin Combined ticket includes admission to the Museum Nikolaikirche, Museum Knoblauchhaus and Museum Ephraim-Palais and is valid for two consecutive days starting from your selected date. If one of the museums is closed on a chosen day, your ticket will remain valid for that museum on the next available opening day. Simply select your preferred start date from the calendar. The ticket is accepted either as a mobile voucher on your smartphone or as a printed version.
Discounted ticket (free of charge): Children and young people up to 18 years, school pupils, university students, trainees, voluntary service participants (FSJ/FÖJ), persons with severe disabilities and accompanying persons.
