With that in mind, you are invited to The Great Boredom featuring Nicolas Schulze and Daniel Kartmann, with a special set for Eschschloraque on September 10, 2026, at 8:00 p.m.
The Great Boredom brings together Potsdam-based pianist Nicolas Schulze and drummer and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Kartmann from Stuttgart.
For 25 years now, the two musicians have been not only musical partners but also close friends. The Great Boredom builds on this long-standing partnership and explores the secrets and thoughts of a conversation between two people.
The result is free, associative improvisational music that moves between jazz, noise, and avant-garde—and deliberately defies classification into any specific genre. In this unique setting, both musicians set aside their usual equipment and devote themselves to exploring alternative sound sources such as the hammered dulcimer, guitar pedals, and electronic effects.
