As a Berlin restaurant, JÓMO not only serves the local neighborhood as a tolerant and cosmopolitan gathering place; through its “Sip and Support” campaign, the team is also showing solidarity with Ukraine.
Donations will be collected at the wine pop-up on September 5 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. All proceeds will go to support the “Come Back Alive” charity foundation.
For this event, Ukrainian wines will be served from the Kolonist and Frumushika-Nova wineries in the historic Odessa region; from the Ace&W by Stakhovsky winery, founded in 2015 by the successful Ukrainian tennis player Sergiy Stakhovsky; from the Beykush winery, located directly on the Black Sea; and many other leading producers who craft excellent and exciting wines.
Every glass celebrates the country’s resilience and the land that nurtures its vines.
It’s worth coming to JÓMO not just for the exciting wines—it will be a convivial day filled with fascinating stories from Ukraine and a spirit of solidarity. The pop-up is organized by the JÓMO team in collaboration with Konstantin Bilozaretskyi, who works as an online marketplace expert and product manager. A native of Ukraine, he has long been committed to supporting his homeland. Last year, he helped make the “Sip and Support” charity pop-up at JÓMO a success.
Since 2014, the “Come Back Alive” Foundation has been supporting people and institutions affected by the war. The war against Ukraine began with Russia’s annexation of Crimea—a move that violated international law—and smoldered for years before Russia escalated it into an open war of aggression with its large-scale invasion in February 2022. A key focus of the “Come Back Alive” Foundation’s work is supporting the Ukrainian defense forces, for example through equipment, training, and medical aid. At the same time, the foundation is active in areas that directly benefit the civilian population. These include, for example, humanitarian demining and the rehabilitation and reintegration of veterans.
The pop-up event on September 5 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at JÓMO offers not only wine but also music and the satisfaction of knowing you’ve done a good deed. The founding team has German and Ukrainian roots and brings together different perspectives at JÓMO to create a restaurant where everyone feels welcome.
About JÓMO
JÓMO is the first joint project by Liliia Suk, Roman Berezin, Vitalii Müller, and Tim Hansen. The restaurant opened in Prenzlauer Berg in 2024 following a deliberate internal development phase: first structuring the system and getting the kitchen, service, menu, and team up and running, then opening its doors to the public. JÓMO has 56 seats inside and up to 68 seats on the terrace. The restaurant can also be booked exclusively for corporate events and private dinners. On weekends, it is open all day from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and daily for dinner from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
