His current, long-standing collaboration with Lionel Haas and his reunion with Uli Moritz—his trusted companion from the ’80s and ’90s—have filled Martin with great anticipation for the evening.

Martin Lillich, born in Bad Boll, studied classical double bass at the Berlin University of the Arts under Klaus Stoll.

As an extremely versatile musician, he is equally at home in jazz, classical music, world music, and the New Klezmer scene. He has performed alongside world-renowned artists such as Al Di Meola, Kenny Wheeler, and Mikis Theodorakis. In addition to his busy concert schedule, he shares his expertise as a teacher, lecturer (including at the Hanns Eisler School of Jazz in Berlin), workshop leader, and coach at the Global Music Academy, inspiring his students with innovative teaching methods.

Ulrich Moritz, born in 1953, looks back on nearly 50 years of continuous teaching and concert activity—from Estonia to New York, from Ulaanbaatar to Tunisia, from Beijing to Istanbul. In addition to his work as a teacher (drums, percussion, and more) at the Neukölln Music School, he teaches as a lecturer at many German state music academies and conservatories and is the author of several books on rhythm pedagogy, DVDs, and numerous scholarly articles.

As a musician, Uli Moritz has, since 1978, participated—in addition to his own solo performances—in many concert tours and, to date, over 80 LP and CD productions, including collaborations with Mikis Theodorakis, Georgios Theodorakis, Maria Farantouri, Sema & Taksim, Zülfü Livaneli, Lauren Newton, Friedemann Witecka, and Jocelyn B. Smish…

Lionel Haas is a renowned German jazz pianist who was born on December 27, 1971, in Bonn. He gained significant musical experience in London and on the jazz scene in Washington, D.C. His artistic path was particularly shaped by his close collaboration with the Jamaican saxophonist Fitz Gore. Haas has lived in Berlin since late 1999, where he has become a fixture and prominent figure in the local jazz scene. His playing is characterized by great dynamism and virtuosity, which he regularly showcases on international tours and at club concerts.

The Argentine-German artist Patricio Böttcher, born in Buenos Aires in 1987, is a versatile woodwind player and composer. He began his musical career by studying the flute before expanding his repertoire to include the saxophone and clarinet, establishing himself as a versatile multi-instrumentalist on woodwinds.

In Buenos Aires, he contributed to several album productions with jazz and South American music ensembles and performed regularly in jazz clubs and concert halls. In 2022, he moved to Germany and has since been part of Berlin’s vibrant jazz scene. In addition to his live performances, Böttcher has established himself as a sought-after studio musician, contributing arrangements and woodwind recordings for artists across various genres on an international level.
