Let’s vote in Mitte - Let's vote in Berlin

The goal is to provide EU citizens eligible to vote with clear information about their right to vote, the responsibilities of the District Assembly, and opportunities for political participation.

In the District Council (BVV) elections on September 20, 2026, EU citizens aged 16 and older who do not hold German citizenship are also eligible to vote. In Berlin, that amounts to approximately 240,000 people.

But why should you have a say in who sits on the BVV in the Mitte district or in other districts of Berlin? How does the BVV work, and what opportunities do you have to shape your neighborhood through the BVV?

This topic will be discussed and explained in both German and English.
