Workshop with Diana Niepce

“THE KNOWING BODY” is presented as an experimental space centered on improvisation and movement. It explores various techniques related to the laws of physics and the functioning of the body.

Starting from the unknown, new possibilities are explored, with the body understood as an open field of discovery and transformation.

The training encourages participants to view the body from the inside out and to understand it as a being in a state of constant change, shaped by internal and external conditions. In this sense, the body is seen as a construct of identity, history, and expression. At the same time, it promotes a democratic approach to dance practice that values the diversity of experiences and perspectives.

Throughout the workshop, there is a consistent emphasis on best practices, both in terms of communication and ethics in dance.

The work is guided by principles developed by Diana Niepce and focuses on improvisation, relationships to space, and the components of action.

The training examines creative processes within a political and identity-related framework. It encourages reflection on the social relevance, historical context, and urgency of artistic creation. Finally, the workshop includes content on existentialism and the performing arts, with these topics examined in relation to people with disabilities. Against this backdrop, works are presented that sometimes address intense themes such as violence, physical transformation, and significant historical events.
