4. Wine Fountain in Lichterfelde
The Family & Friends e. V. association is known for bringing together very special artists for its carefully curated wine and art markets.
From Glass to Gallery—Art & Crafts on Sunday
Creative artists from the greater Berlin area gather here with connoisseurs, friends, and neighbors in a relaxed atmosphere to exchange ideas, share personal stories about their craft, and perhaps even find a lovely gift or a new work of art for their own homes—handmade and one-of-a-kind.
More than 30 potters, painters, and designers will transform Ludwig-Beck-Platz in Lichterfelde West—centered around the striking coat-of-arms fountain—into a lively art promenade on Sunday, September 6, 2026.
“Materiality & Sensuality: Craft Comes to Life”
In 2026, much of the focus will be on tactile, natural materials that reveal their surface and history—handcrafted ceramics, wood, woven fibers, and recycled and upcycled materials will be particularly in demand. These materials represent authenticity, sustainability, and an emotional connection between the maker and the user. In this way, nearly all materials—such as wood, fabric, wool, ceramics, glass, or paper—are transformed into unique works of art. Artists whose workshops and studios are located outside the capital, in particular, are eager to take this opportunity to engage in personal exchanges and showcase their artwork.
Always in attendance are the two creative minds, Gianni & Carlos Klein of HatArt by C & G Klein from Berlin—their unique women’s and men’s hats, caps, beanies, fascinators, and headbands turn every day into a special occasion. Their craftsmanship is art—and both are delighted when visitors come to discover their artistic headwear at their booth:
Gianni: “Carlos, why does craftsmanship actually take so long?”
Carlos: “Because machines don’t have patience.”
Gianni: “But people do?”
Carlos: “Of course—especially good souls like us!”
Another regular guest is the independent cultural publisher Kadmos from Berlin-Moabit. Its publications are characterized by intellectual depth and meticulous design—ideal as gift ideas are the book *Berliner Tiere* and the accompanying poster, the memo games *Großstadttiere* and *Küstentiere*, as well as postcard calendars and matching jute bags on various themes.
Jandee Design has been exhibiting at Family & Friends markets for decades and produces clever leather wallets designed specifically for right- or left-handed people. These well-thought-out wallets, available in every color of the rainbow, make handling easier and are ideal for anyone who values comfort and functionality in everyday life. The assortment is rounded out by small leather goods, belt pouches, and belt buckles. Come try them out and get personalized advice!
Crazy, quirky, and unique crocheted dolls, figures, Spitznasis, Schneckis, monsters, bags, lampignons, stoles—and everything else you can conjure up from wool with crochet hooks and knitting needles—are available at Spitznasis & Friends from Berlin. Every single wool product is guaranteed to be handmade and one-of-a-kind.
OVA Handmade crafts unique candles in small pots made of oak, leather, and stone, using natural soy wax, essential oil scents, and custom engraving—the latter available on-site. This makes every scented candle an olfactory and deeply personal gift for yourself or a loved one.
True to the motto “Your picture will find you!” Marlen Scharf offers originals on canvas, limited-edition art prints, and postcards—framed or unframed—at her booth.
At TRAQART, you’ll find bags that connect meaning and the senses, and responsible craftsmanship: the bags, backpacks, and accessories—made from high-quality, natural materials like cotton canvas and leather—are handmade and designed in Berlin. TRAQART is distinguished by its deep appreciation for traditional craftsmanship and sustainability (because the products are biodegradable and, thanks to their durability, in harmony with nature).
Reblislefat offers handmade jewelry and decorative objects crafted from old, silver-plated cutlery: the handle of a pastry tong quickly becomes a letter-shaped pendant, a serving fork turns into a stylish bangle, or the handle of Grandma’s cake fork is transformed into an ornate silver ring.
Roomlight Studio is a Berlin-based workshop specializing in “upcycled lamps” made from ceramic and glass—primarily from vases or candlesticks dating from the 1950s to the 1970s. Each lamp base is fitted with a new, contemporary lampshade—and you can watch on-site as these works of art take shape. The smaller cordless table lamps for indoor and outdoor use can be charged with a USB-C cable.
HildeGold crafts jewelry from high-quality Japanese Miyuki beads. These are small, very evenly and uniformly crafted glass beads produced exclusively in Japan by the manufacturer of the same name.
Jero and Pirmin offer one-of-a-kind wooden items that are as practical as they are sustainable: Hand-carved wooden tableware made from regional timber—such as spoons, bowls, plates, containers, mugs, and cutting boards—is crafted in their training workshop in Prignitz near Berlin. Their booth, complete with a wood lathe, is always a crowd-pleaser at craft fairs.
In addition, the famous German-Dutch duo Huub Dutch will provide musical entertainment with their original bucket bass, the “Wäscheleinophon,” performing a mix of swinging classics and groovy blues and boogie numbers.
