An evening for everyone who loves great voices and exquisite musical discoveries: Mezzo-soprano Alexandra Sherman presents a diverse program featuring opera arias and art songs by Johannes Brahms, Carl Loewe, Maurice Ravel, Benjamin Britten, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Together with pianist Yury Ilinov, a répétiteur at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, and cellist Karl Figueroa Zúñiga, she guides the audience through a program brimming with emotion, contrasts, and sonic sophistication. The Brahms songs, Op. 91, in particular, take on an additional, moving timbre thanks to the cello.

Straddling the worlds of opera and art song, the evening unfolds as a series of musical stories—at times passionate and dramatic, at others intimate and contemplative. Alexandra Sherman captivates the audience with her expressive voice and her ability to bring the moods and characters of the works to life.

  • Alexandra Sherman (mezzo-soprano)
  • Karl Figueroa Zúñiga (cello)

The concert is part of the volunteer project “KlangBrücken” organized by the Luther Parish in Alt-Reinickendorf. The series aims to bring people together through music and to showcase the church as an open space for culture, connection, and community in the neighborhood.
