From Capa to Zibellino: Fashion Trends from Italy, 1500–1650

Clothes make the man, and they shape the image of an era. Fashion reflects the spirit of the times in a society, its values, and its evolution.

In this guided tour, art historian Britta Bode and art and costume historian Martin Hanßen will examine selected Italian works from the Gemäldegalerie dating from 1500 to 1650 and discuss social roles, cultural change, and how fashion responds to these shifts.
