Embroidered Emotions: At “Sunday in the Nikolaiviertel,” people of all ages can get creative together with needle and thread. Participation is free!

Embroidery is an ancient handicraft technique. It was also practiced in the home of the Knoblauch merchant family. After falling into obscurity for decades, embroidery has now returned as a popular hobby in a new form.

On “Sunday in the Nikolaiviertel,” the Berlin collective Sticken invites adults and children ages 3 and up to an open-air embroidery challenge. At the fountain under the trees next to the Knoblauchhaus Museum, a large piece of fabric offers space for whatever moves you: little love notes, a heart, a name. Which symbol fits which feeling? Which words? Which color?

  • Note: Continuous from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. No prior experience or registration required. Just stop by and join in!
  • Venue: Nikolaikirchplatz
  • Meeting point: Knoblauchhaus Museum
