Embroidery is an ancient handicraft technique. It was also practiced in the home of the Knoblauch merchant family. After falling into obscurity for decades, embroidery has now returned as a popular hobby in a new form.
On “Sunday in the Nikolaiviertel,” the Berlin collective Sticken invites adults and children ages 3 and up to an open-air embroidery challenge. At the fountain under the trees next to the Knoblauchhaus Museum, a large piece of fabric offers space for whatever moves you: little love notes, a heart, a name. Which symbol fits which feeling? Which words? Which color?
- Note: Continuous from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. No prior experience or registration required. Just stop by and join in!
- Venue: Nikolaikirchplatz
- Meeting point: Knoblauchhaus Museum
