concert wirh Oana Cătălina Chițu & Band

In addition to modern classical music, Constantin Brancusi’s burning passion was above all for Romanian folklore and song traditions.

Brancusi is said to have once remarked about the music of his girlfriend, the Romanian singer Maria Tănase (1913–1963): “When I hear you sing, Maria, I could carve an Enchanted Bird for each of our songs.”

To revive this artistic dialogue, Romanian singer Oana Cătălina Chițu presents a selection of her contemporary interpretations of Tănase’s music, accompanied by accordion, cimbalom, and violin.
