Opening | Lecture
Salamon uses choreography as a mobilizing and organizing force between various media such as image, sound, music, text, voice, body movement, and action. Her works evolve through diverse formats and aesthetics, methodologies, and poetics, drawing on a broad spectrum of expressive forms.
Eszter Salamon lives and works in Berlin, Paris, and Budapest. She is the recipient of the 2019 Evens Arts Prize and the winner of the “La vie bonne” call for projects by the Centre national des arts plastiques and AWARE: Archives of Women Artists, Research and Exhibitions in 2020.
Valeska Gert Visiting Professorship
For a period of one semester at a time, the Academy of Arts, Freie Universität Berlin, and the Berlin Artists’ Program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) invite students in the Master’s program in Dance Studies at FU Berlin to engage in artistic and scholarly work and research together with a visiting professor. The seminar content is introduced to the public at the beginning in a public lecture, and the results are presented to the audience at the end in a final student presentation.
