This exhibition is dedicated to jazz—a musical form that thrives on improvisation, expression, and the intensity of the moment. The photographs on display make visible what is otherwise only audible: tension, energy, and the interplay among the musicians.
On display are striking images from the vibrant jazz scene featuring bands and projects such as Robert and the Music Blend, the Pass Over Blues Band, the Blue Wonder Jazzband, Supersalad, Simone K. and Band, the Berlin Groove Machine, Bajazzo, the Tilo Weber Quartet, and the Uli Gumpert Quartet. These are complemented by striking portraits of musical personalities such as Chris B., Uli Gumpert, Silke Eberhard, Kay Lübke, Jan Röder, and Falk Breitkreuz.
The photographs were taken primarily at concerts in Karlshorst and at the Industriesalon Schöneweide. They capture the special atmosphere of these venues and distill it into images that go far beyond mere concert documentation.
“Jazz in Pictures” invites visitors to rediscover music—not through listening, but through seeing. The exhibition opens a window into the emotional and artistic depth of jazz and makes its fleeting moments permanently tangible.
Opening: May 8, 6 p.m.
